For Faculty:
- Assist in finding the right data and choosing the right tools to work with it
- Visit your classroom to teach particular resources and strategies to students
- Approach projects from a perspective different from and complimentary to faculty specialists: draw on a broad awareness of data archives and resources in tandem with experience with the types of problems students experience while doing research
- Offer ideas for integrating data and information literacy into assignments
- Can clarify whether or not Carleton or specific individuals have access to a particular resource (data, reference, software…)
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging resources (can help keep you informed about new data sets, web sites, changes in bibliographic databases, software updates, internet options, and the like)
- Work closely with others on & off campus to get answers to questions
- Help you manage your accumulating data through its life-cycle; project planning, software options, documentation, archiving…
- Assist in creating graphical display of your data
- Maintain annotated guides to resources for students & other researchers
