Ending Hiatus

I just finished watching a two-part NISO webinar on research data curation and am excited to get going being more intentional about communication with people on our campus about these big questions about data big and otherwise. The Research Data Alliance is having its second plenary meeting right now in Washington D.C. In a couple of weeks, ICPSR will have its OR meeting. Research data management has been in the air for several years now, but I am ready now, as Sayeed Choudhury advised in his session today, to embrace the fact that we’re not yet sure what we need to do and where we need to start (or, rather, build on what we’ve been doing). The most important thing is to build partnerships within and beyond our institutions, which is something simple enough to tackle.

It is my intention for this blog to become more active again, but with a broader scope, including resources and tools for data management and curation. Here goes…
