SOSIG is an excellent metasite of online resources in the social sciences. I use this site frequently to find statistics and data sources, digital libraries, open source publications, governement and ngo agencies that publish on a topic, and other free sources.
Every source is selected, indexed, and annotated, which makes it easy to search the site and get decipherable results.
