STAT-USA, a long-time standby, one stop shop for information released by government agencies publishing trade and economic information (such as the Census Bureau, Treasury Department, BLS, Federal Reserve, Foreign Agricultural Service, U.S. Commercial Service, Department of State, EIA, etc) will close its virtual doors on September 30, 2010.
By August 15, a resources page pointing to source agencies will be up in its place. If you were a regular user of STAT-USA, you may want to visit there and gather the appropriate links.
In the meantime, consider exploring some of these other sources that also aggregate economic and trade data:
- LexisNexis Statistical and Statistical Datasets together cover over 85% of STAT-USA’s titles
- globalEDGE DIBS (free registration with .edu email address required)
Database of International Business Statistics - U.S. Commercial Service Market Research Library
Market research reports - U.S. Exports (export.gov)
- Data.gov
- American Factfinder
For more details about this change, see the letter released by STAT-USA and their page of frequently asked/answered questions.
