The World Bank’s Governance Site provides full access to the Governance Indicators: 1996-2004 dataset used in the 2005 paper “Governance Matters IV: Governance Indicators for 1996-2004” by D. Kaufmann, A. Kraay, and M. Mastruzzi. The site offers several means of interactively accessing the data along with download in Excel format. Especially useful to students in the process of operationalizing their research questions are the methodological papers on governance. The Governance Indicators address the following six dimensions of governance for 209 countries:
